GEO strategy: from what AI answers to a content plan
Measurement only helps if it turns into work. Four modules take a scan to a plan: what each engine answers, which topics people ask about that your site doesn't cover, which strategy to follow, and which content to produce.
Short answer
A GEO strategy decides what to publish, where and in what order so that AI names you in the questions that matter in your category. In Refractia it comes from four modules: the Prompts Library stores every question with each engine's answer; Demand compares the topics people ask about with what your site covers; the Strategy Room generates the strategic plan from the scan; and the Content Workshop turns the content plan into briefs tracked as tasks.
Prompts Library: what each engine answered
A plan starts with reading the answers, not just the numbers. The Prompts Library stores every question in the scan with each engine's answer. The questions cover the category, comparisons and purchase intent; they are generated in your market's language and name the country in full. For a brand in Argentina, for example: "¿Cuál es la mejor nafta en Argentina?" ("What is the best gasoline in Argentina?").
Reading the actual answers changes the internal conversation. A visibility percentage is abstract; seeing an engine recommend three competitors and not you on a specific purchase question is a clear assignment. And if an engine did not answer a question, the Library shows it as not measured, not as an answer that ignored you.
Demand: what people ask that your site doesn't answer
Demand crosses two lists: the topics people ask about in your category and the topics your site covers. The result is a coverage map. A topic with demand and no page of yours that answers it is the first candidate for new content: the question exists, and today others answer it.
It reads well next to Performance by Topic, which shows the topics where AI names you and the ones where you disappear. A topic where you lose to your rivals and where your site has nothing to say is an easy priority to defend.
Strategy Room: the plan
The Strategy Room generates a consulting-grade strategic plan from the scan results. It is the step between diagnosis and work: it sets what to tackle first, and why.
Refractia works as a platform plus a strategy team, so the plan doesn't end as a downloaded file. You discuss it with people who know the measurement.
“Refractia delivered an extremely insightful report that gave me many ideas for improving our digital strategy. The way it analyzes how AI perceives a brand gave me great clarity on how we're being seen in the AI ecosystem.”
Content Workshop: briefs tracked as tasks
The GEO analysis of your site produces a content plan. The Content Workshop breaks it down into briefs: every piece to create or improve becomes a work item, so it can be tracked until it is published.
For brands with several product lines, content work runs per line: each line competes in its own arena and needs its own pieces, even when the lines share one website.
What a content plan for AI search includes
A plan that only publishes on your own blog works on a small part of the problem: in Refractia's data, a brand's own site is 0.5% to 2.8% of what AI cites. A complete plan combines three fronts:
- Your site: pages that answer directly the questions Demand surfaces, honest comparisons, and specific facts that AI can extract and cite.
- Third-party sources: the media, comparisons and reviews that engines already cite in your category, according to Influence Sources.
- Technical readability: whatever the Technical Workshop flags, starting with any block on AI crawlers.
The cycle: measure, plan, produce, measure again

Prompts Library and Demand: what each engine answers and which topics are left uncovered.

Strategy Room: priorities and a plan, worked through with the team.

Content Workshop: briefs as tasks, until each piece is published.

Measure again
A new scan with the same questions shows in Evolution whether anything changed. Scans are started by a person, so schedule one once the content is live.
Frequently asked questions
What is a GEO strategy?
It is the plan for getting AI engines to name you and describe you well in the questions of your category: what content to create, which sources to appear in, what to fix on your site, and in what order.
How do I build a content plan to show up in ChatGPT?
Start by reading what it answers today to the questions in your category, find the topics people ask about that your site doesn't cover, and add the third-party sources AI already cites. Then measure again with the same questions.
What is the difference between the Strategy Room and the Content Workshop?
The Strategy Room generates the strategic plan from the scan. The Content Workshop turns the content plan from the GEO analysis into briefs tracked as tasks.
Can I see exactly what each AI engine answered?
Yes. The Prompts Library stores every question in the scan with each engine's answer.
How long does it take for content to show up in AI answers?
There is no fixed timeline. AI search engines reflect changes on the web as they index pages; chat models change when the provider updates them. That is why you measure again.
